Compassion fatigue or burnout? Individuals in the helping professions are faced daily with the task of being someone’s sounding board, saving grace, and life line. This position often requires you to think outside of yourself and put the thoughts, feelings, and needs of others at the forefront. Those in the helping professions experience a large amount of vicarious trauma while in the field that often goes unprocessed and unnoticed. This workshop will assist you with defining compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout. You identify symptoms of compassion fatigue, how to recognize it, and how to engage in effective behaviors to counteract maladaptive behaviors and emotions.

These 2 consecutive sessions will cover how to be prepared for a Department monitoring. We will cover why the monitoring process exists, the required monitoring cycles, how to submit the requested testing samples, common mistakes to avoid, issues that can trigger additional monitoring activity, and how to respond to monitoring reports. Time permitting, we will work on network program production and trends.
